 2017 Preview 


       Glenwood School completed the 2016 season with a 8-4 record. With their 4-1 region record and a second place finish in Class AAA region one, the Gators earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. Last year Glenwood School reached the semi-finals before falling to a very good Monroe Academy team by the score of 48-17.

       The Gators improved in 2016 with their first winning season since 2012.

       Since 2010, Glenwood School has gone a combined 40-40. Their 50.0% winning percentage ranks 8th in Class AAA over the past seven seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Glenwood School has managed to compile a record of 152-124. Their 55.0% winning percentage ranks 7th in Class AAA and 16th in the AISA.

       The Gators are led by head coach Jason Gibson who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 8-4 record in his first season at Glenwood School. The Gators saw improvement from a 4-6 record the season before coach Gibson arrived. Under his direction the Gators have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Gibson.

       Coach Gibson's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 8-4 (66.7%).

       The Glenwood School Gators will play in Class AAA region one during the 2017 season.

       The Gators should be in contention for a playoff spot in region one this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

       The Gators open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent Calvary GA on Friday, August 25 at The Swamp.

       Glenwood School and Calvary GA have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Gators have a 2-0-0 record against Calvary GA. They last met in 2016 with Glenwood School winning by a score of 22-17.

       Glenwood School returns AISA All-State Senior receiver Cameron ONeil. He was named to the second team last season. The Gators also return Senior kicker Thomas Camacho. He was named to the second team.
